About Musarama

This website provides you with access to images related to bananas.

From the Images page, you can browse through all the photos. Click on View details to be able to see the caption and other information; you may view the full-size image and download it as well.

The Browse by keyword menu on the left has a list of selected keywords. To view all the keywords, click on All keywords.

Click on the Search tab to find images using search criteria.

All images contain metadata, including caption, photographer and so on. These data are readable by almost all image manipulation programmes. By embedding the data in the files, we hope users will find it easier to make use of the images and their associated information. It should also be easier to give credit where credit is due.

Except where otherwise noted, the content on this site is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 Unported License. In other words, non-commercial use of the images is allowed as long as the photographer and the source, Musarama, are acknowledged. Online users should also provide a hyperlink to the image in Musarama.

Bioversity accepts liability for neither the content of the information contained on this site, nor for the consequences arising from its use or interpretation. The publisher or broadcaster accepts sole responsibility for changes to the information supplied with the photos.

Privacy notice

This privacy notice is about the information we collect from you when you register to the Musarama database. 

In collecting this information, we are acting as a data controller and, by law, we are required to provide you with information about us, about why and how we use your data, and about the rights you have over your data.

What personal data do we collect? 
The personal data we request: email address. 

Why do we collect this information? 
We use this information in order to allow you to save in private albums the images that you select. We ask for your consent to do this, and we will only keep your data in our database for as long as you continue to consent.

What we do with this information? 
We use the information in an image management software developed in-house. Your personal data is held with the utmost care and security and is not shared with third parties. 

How long we keep your information for?
Your information is kept until you ask us to remove it from the database by sending an email to bioversity-ds-requests@cgiar.org

Your rights over your information
By law, you can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. You can also ask for it to be erased and you can ask for us to give you a copy of the information.

You can also ask us to stop using your information – the simplest way to do this is to withdraw your consent, which you can do at any time, either by clicking the unsubscribe link at the end of any newsletter, or by emailing, writing or telephoning us using the contact details above.
